Mamie's 90th Birthday

Mamie was given a great surprise on the night of her 90th birthday at the Country Inn, Clonberne. But before that she was taken by her best friends to a restaurant in Claremorris for a celebration dinner and her first birthday cake.

Then, on arriving at the Country Inn, she commented that the car park was full and wondered what was going on, and when she saw the firework display and banner across the street it still never dawned on her there was a party for her until she walked into the Country Inn and everybody started clapping and singing Happy Birthday.

She went around and greeted everyone before the party began and her second birthday cake was presented. They certainly know how to party in Clonberne so surrounded by all her great neighbours, family and friends it was a party to remember. She danced the night away into the small hours getting home at 4.30.

A few days later she flew to England to be with Vivian and Lesley, and the following day, she had another surprise when Adrian and Catherine arrived from Paris. On the eve of her birthday everyone went out to a local restaurant for dinner and a birthday chocolate delight most of which which in ended up on her dress in all the excitement.

A barbecue was arranged for the Sunday but she was not aware that her sisters, nieces etc. were about to descend on her, she was gob-smacked when they arrived and to cut a long story short a glorious afternoon of sun, fine food, wine and stories were had by all, not to mention her fourth birthday cake. The photo album (just click on the album on the adjacent column) will take you through her prolonged birthday celebrations, and they still go on as I write this, we have lost count of how many birthday cakes she has had.
